Make sure you save the files in this directory, otherwise you lose them when you close the client. Note: in general, network-facing applications in Firejail have a downloads-only home directory. We also make the home directory non-executable, and if AppArmor is running on your system we deploy our own profile and enforce it. Here is a DNS trace left behind by a bittorrent client, information you cannot justify if they start asking questions. The fix is to encrypt the DNS traffic.
Arch and Fedora people already have the latest Firejail version available in the package manager, and FDNS is a simple. The proxy chooses a random server from a large list. All servers are non-censoring and non-logging , the vast majority non-corporate. To track the DNS traffic, as a regular user run. Firejail allows each sandbox to have its own DNS configuration. In this case we use the loopback address We are going to change that today. Firejail is a program that can prepare sandboxes to run other programs.
This is an efficient way to keep a software isolated from the rest of the system without need of changing its source code, it works for network, graphical or daemons programs. Web browsers are major tools nowadays and yet they have access to the whole system and have many security issues discovered and exploited in the wild, running it in a sandbox can reduce the data a hacker could exfiltrate from the computer.
For running applications sandboxed in Linux, Firetools is a good utility to do so. Sandboxing is essentially restricting applications in their own space and thereby limiting their reach to the overall system. This is a security layer to prevent any malicious programs to have full access to the system. For this you need a systemd unit file see Appendix 1 and a simple script see Apendix 2.

Re: Trouble with firejail firefox downloads not persisting Post by phd21 » Fri Jul 28, am Hi "BigAngry", That is one way to handle a Firejail sandboxed browser, but I do not think that changing "mount points" is necessarily a good thing to do for this, and certainly not for a new or inexperienced user. Perhaps you are using "mount points" to mean something else than what it usually means.
Another way is to just use your "Downloads" folder for storing the torrents information files and the actual file downloads, and change the torrent software client to look in those folders.
We take security bugs very seriously. If you believe you have found one, please report it by emailing us at netblue30 yahoo. AppArmor development libraries and pkg-config are required when using --apparmor. The second command integrates Firejail into your desktop. You would need to logout and login back to apply PulseAudio changes. Start your programs the way you are used to: desktop manager menus, file manager, desktop launchers. The integration applies to any program supported by default by Firejail.
There are about default applications in current Firejail version, and the number goes up with every new release.
