Yes No Ask Me Later. Ava and Web Chat functionality is only available to customers and partners who are logged in and have an active maintenance agreement. On the Directories tab, note the current setting of the Binary Directory.

Click OK. Leave IP Office Manager running. Check that the TFTP server application is running. Enter the phone configuration menu:. Either press the Services button twice or use the BootC procedure above. If you plug these phones into latest 3. If you plug the handset into a system that requires R2 on the 54 series, when the phone attempts the downgrade it will fail and leave the phone broken. Look at the date on the box - pre Oct 07 will go on any system no probs and will upgrade and downgrade at will.

Post Oct 07 and the system needs to be on latest 3. Upgrade systems to latest levels of 3. There will be a fix for this issued soon i believe. Stupid that these phone's are not backwords compatible! Did they tell the reason? You can only laugh at this one, I wonder how many phones are being RMA'd. Once you try to download the firmware we did without realizing there was a problem , will the awaited "fix" work or will the phones have to be RMAed - or does anyone know at this point?

That makes sense. I still have the "waiting" problem. Thanks for giving me a direction. Be cautious on that one though, we did it on a test system that was expendable!! If it does not take the actual R5 I am not sure the renaming will work mind!! On a side note, I assume they upgraded the Manager programme on the PC that is acting as TFTP server, if they never that will still have the R2 firmware on it,which could explain why they are still waiting for the R5 bin file!!

There will be a patch issued to fix this in the next few days. Its a bug,not somebody doing something worng. I'll wait for the patch - I've tried everything else. Glad to see that I wasn't the only one bitten by this Had a tel set new that needed the upgrade on a new system - had 15 new tel sets on as well new with 5.
